Fund Raising

On November 29th we arranged a shopping trip to Cheltenham where we raised £30.

Christmas Fayre £1,450

This was a great success with new ideas such as:

  • School Calenders
  • Personalised Stockings
  • Dance Mat
  • New Games
  • Face Painting
  • Father Christmas

With monies raised we have fitted out a new quiet area for the year one class and bought a sound system for the whole school.

We are always trying to raise money to improve the quality of our school and would appreciate any new ideas!!

A notice board has been erected at the rear of the school to inform parents of any events etc. coming up.

Summer fair has been arranged for the 4th July. Everyone welcome.

School Logo Competition

During the Autumn term of 2002 the school ran a community competition whereby anyone from the Gorseinon area could get involved. The competition was to design a logo for our school. The competition was sponsered by Lazagem (who we would like to thank) and we had 17 entries.

The winner was a Mr S Colinese who is a parent of one of our children.

We would like to thank all those who took part to make it such a success. We also appreciate the help from Mr Gary Hope who did the graphics of the logo.

School Walking Bus

It has been discussed at a meeting by parents and the local safety officer concerning a trial run of a school walking bus.
A pilot group is to be arranged to walk from Garden Village to school to help ease the traffic congestion around the school entrance.

Voucher Collection

The school is currently involved in the ‘free art stuff for schools’. The school also collects the Tesco vouchers for computers which we have been doing for some time and have been lucky enough to receive quite a few new computers!!

This year we collected 2300 computers for school vouchers. Well done everyone!!
