Pupil Information - Head Boy/Girl

Head Boy

Hi, my name is Jamie and I am head boy at Pontybrenin Primary School.

My duties as head boy are to welcome visitors to our school and give them a tour of the school and thank them for coming.

When I found out I was head boy I was excited because it is a new experience for me and for the school and I hope to do a good job.

Another job I have to do is the School Council Meeting. The head girl Eleanor and myself run the School Council. Josh and Fern are the deputies.

Head Girl

Hi, my name is Eleanor. I found out I was head girl on a Friday afternoon, I went home and my mum told me that Mr Greenaway had phoned that morning. I thought I was in trouble! My mum waited for my dad to come home, when he did we went into the living room and my mum told me the good news. I was really happy that I had been chosen. The next Monday I went and said thank-you to Mr Greenaway.

My duties as head girl are to show visitors around the school, thank people like Action Zone, NCH and other groups for coming.
I’m also on fruit tuck and I’m a buddie and because I’m head girl I am on the School Council.

Deputy Head Boy

Hello, my name is Joshua. I work and study in Pontybrenin Primary School. I am in year 6.
I am deputy head boy. My partner Jamie is head boy.
Being deputy head boy means you have duties to do while you are in school. One of those duties while you are in school is to attend School Council Meetings.

Also you have to care for our school and have concern for people’s feelings and the school surroundings.

Being deputy head boy was a shock. I was so pleased to be picked for my school it made me feel that I can help children in their own school.

I wanted to do this job because the future of this school depends on us and its pupils should have a happy future.

Deputy Head Girl

Hello, I am Fern. When I was told that I had been chosen as the role of deputy head girl the most wonderful feeling went through my body. I have to wear a uniform, which is really nice, and I do lots of jobs around the school. I really like our school and I will be sad to leave Pontybrenin School in July. I feel so proud to be deputy head girl and I also feel proud that I was chosen out of the whole school.
